Senior brand or Employer Brand leadership in the room — on a fractional basis.
Companion · embedded · about ten hours a month
You need the function owned by someone senior — not just advised on — but a permanent senior hire isn't right yet, or isn't right at all. The roadmap needs an owner. The agencies need senior direction. The internal hires need someone to learn from. Or you're between leaders and need senior continuity while the search runs.
This is embedded fractional leadership. The Companion owns the Brand or Employer Brand roadmap — sets the priorities, sequences the work, directs the specialists, sits in the leadership rhythm, develops the junior people in the function. The difference from Strategic Companion isn't more hours; it's ownership. Strategic tests your decisions; Lead makes them, within the function's remit, as its senior leader. It's still not execution — leadership, not doing; the production goes to specialists, directed against the strategy.
What it isn't — It isn't a permanent hire pretending to be fractional. It's explicitly transitional — the right structure for a defined period, with a clean handover when you're ready to bring the function in-house. About ten hours a month of senior leadership. A fraction of a full-time senior hire; month-to-month; thirty days' notice.
